Why “Permanent Flux”?
The name reflects our mission: a celebration of constant evolution—of ideas, universes, and perspectives. Like the worlds we publish, Permanent Flux is dynamic, fluid, and always expanding.

What Permanent Flux Is Trying to Do

Permanent Flux explores science fiction as a living continuum.

Early science fiction was shaped by scale, curiosity, and consequence—stories that imagined patrols in space, cosmic threats, and civilizations confronting the enormity of the universe long before space opera had a name. Those works remain relevant not as artifacts, but as foundations.

At the same time, science fiction is never static. Each generation reinterprets the genre through its own questions and concerns. Permanent Flux exists in that overlap, bringing classic speculative ideas into conversation with new voices.

For that reason, we publish both carefully selected public-domain works and original fiction. The classics establish lineage. New stories push outward.

We use AI-assisted artwork for visual presentation, while publishing human-written fiction only. Storytelling—voice, imagination, and risk—remains a human act.

Permanent Flux is interested in continuity, not nostalgia: science fiction in motion, shaped by the past and aimed at what comes next.
